Warehouse Systems Application Manager
As a Warehouse Systems Application Manager you will be working in a team that covers a wide range of logistics applications (SAP and non SAP). Alignment inside the team and across teams will be your daily business and you will be empowered to take own decisions.
As a Warehouse Systems Application Manager you will support the logistics community by managing and continuously improving the provided IT business system services, with focus on securing that system and SW updates meet new business requirements and are deployed in a controlled and timely manner.
Our main goal is to support the business in a professional and speedy way.
As a Warehouse Systems Application Manager you will have a key position within the SKF IT organization. You will be part of the future system landscape strategy, the related release planning and system upgrades.
Your day-to-day work
As a Warehouse Systems Application Manager you will be System Expert for SKF’s common logistics warehouse systems like WASS/ASTRO, SAP EWM and DWM and connected administration systems with a very good knowledge of the main warehouse and distribution processes. You will:
• Be the IT System Owner for SKF’s Legacy Warehouse Management Systems
• Give support the operational stability of SW
o By securing quality of SW code and configurations, and compliance, through adherence to IQSM ands SICS quality and compliance standards, as well as EA technology and methodology standards
o by developing and maintaining knowledge of relevant applications/systems
o by engaging when there are major system outages (P1s and severe P2s) disrupting significant parts of SKF business operations
o as 'Authorized Change Approver', review and approve deployment of the resulting SW configuration item (CI) changes
o by proper application life cycle management, securing supported SW in the application layer
• Manage system suppliers providing Application Management services
• Reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) throughout the SW life cycle
• Support the Request Management process for given systems, meaning
o from a technology perspective review the business needs and requirements as displayed in DEMANDS in SNOW)
o make own recommendations of new processes/systems/applications and upgrades/improvements of existing systems
o as 'Authorised Requester', request IT Enhancements from an SKF IT Supplier
o drive the development and testing of new SW up to aligning UAT with business
o be responsible for implementation and continuously follow-up on agreed Request and Change Management SLAs
o ensuring compliance with the Request and Change Management processes as described in IQSM and SICS
• Participate in
o medium-to-large projects as Subject Matter Expert (SME), Solution Architect or Technical Project Manager roles, providing application knowledge/solution knowledge
o smaller projects/activities, like Minor Enhancements, also act in Project Manager/Work Package Manager roles, providing leadership competences and application knowledge/solution knowledge
o PMTs (Process Management Teams)
• Manage interfaces, contacts and cooperation with other SKF IT departments
We expect you to have
• University Degree in IT or other relevant area or equivalent working experience
• Deep understanding of SKF specific business processes in Logistics
• Around 3+ years experience in major common systems like WASS/ASTRO and SAP EWM
• Flexible and mobile, willingness to travel (20%)
• Fluent in English

Additional information for you
Location: Preferably Göteborg (Sweden) or Airasca (Italy). For the right candidate, other locations may be considered.
You will report to the Manager of Logistics BPS who is located in Schweinfurt, Germany.
