Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer

About The Role

If joining us, you will work with the latest cloud technologies in a team of highly skilled software engineers that are at the forefront of design and development using cloud technology.
The team provides a global service with responsibility for the secure and efficient development environment for all AVEVA solutions. In this role you will be a key member of the team responsible for our hybrid development environment, encompassing cloud (Azure Cloud and AWS), on-prem, and data centre resources.
The role will have significant responsibilities for designing, implementing, and maintaining the operation, security, reporting, and monitoring frameworks used for AVEVA’s development environment. You will be working with the wider global Development Services team, as well the product development teams, the product security team, and AVEVA’s corporate IT and security teams.
The role will be responsible for the continual improvement of frameworks for automation, reporting for system health and cost, as well as supporting the development teams. Your work will involve implementing cloud native technologies for provisioning and maintaining could resources, security best practises, cost control, and more. Our Software Engineers work with a broad range of customers in exciting sectors, creating highly available and scalable SaaS features based on AVEVA’s portfolio of world class 3D design products. They have opportunities to grow their knowledge in an agile environment of rapidly changing technology.
To join the team, you need to be senior in Azure Cloud and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with proven experience in provisioning cloud resources (Terraform, Packer, Ansible). You need understanding of Cloud service and deployment models (Docker/Containers, Kubernetes) and ability to code or script with experience in developing web applications or services (PowerShell, Node.js, RESTful APIs).
It is beneficial if you have experience within AWS, VMware, Azure DevOps (VSTS), Agile development, continuous integration and automation tools, test driven development or continuous delivery practices.
As a person you need to enjoy working in teams, taking responsibility and makes things happen in a fast-changing environment. You enjoy communicating in a dynamic, international environment in a matrix organization. Occasional overseas travel may be required as the need arises.
