Arbetsbeskrivning

Due to Modern regulations, the Diesel Engine and Exhaust After Treatment System have become very complicated. This entails a new method to identify the various overlapping faults of the system for  diagnostic purposes.
The thesis entails development of real time running Engine models (11 and 13 litre) from detailed GT Suite models that can be integrated with control systems specifically for diagnostic purposes. This entails the ability of the models to be parameterised so that the models can be easily converted to various configurations used in the field (like different emission standards like US13, EU6 , JPN etc.) Also it should be able to entice fault behavior in the models using external signals. These models will need to run real time and be able to provide accurate emission and fuel consumption data for various configuration with just changes in parameterisation and not by changing the underlying model itself.

Suitable background
1. Masters program in Applied Chemistry,Physics, or Mathematics. or related mechanical and chemical engineering fields
2. Knowledge of system modeling and model reduction techniques is appreciated
3. Skills in Matlab Simulink and GT Suite, or willingness and skills to learn the tools without much support
4. Ability to work independently and creatively
