Your mission will be to lead Environment, Health and Safety activities across hub sites with a continuous improvement perspective to reach zero accidents.

You will be responsible for:

  • Environment, Health, Safety practices and results across the hub sites and teams
  • Providing advice and support to the Site managers and local EHS teams for all EHS related issues
  • Carrying out the identification of all risk factors, risk assessment and identification of the measures for the safety and health of the workplace, in collaboration with the Site Manager and local EHS in compliance with current legislation on the basis of the specific knowledge of the company organization, and subsequent updates
  • Developing preventive and protective measures necessary to eliminate or reduce the risks identified and the control systems for these measures; identify the protective devices to be adopted
  • Implementing Group/Hubs EHS programs and protocols across the Hub
  • Promoting a strong safety culture across the Hub
  • Carrying out regular gap-analysis reports between actual work places or procedural aspects and legal/Group compliance requirements on safety, environment and health topics, promptly advising Site Managers and local EHS representatives in order to develop the proper corrective plans
  • Training and coaching workers when required on the topics within the EHS competence: risk assessment, internal EHS rules, usage of PPE, EHS protocols and procedures, emergency procedures on prevention and protection measures
  • Organizing and conducting meetings regarding the protection of health and safety at work with all stakeholders as per established deadlines
  • Developing, keeping updated and strengthening the EHS management system based on the standards of the Imerys Group, the legislative provisions, the ISO standards
  • Implementing and keeping up-to-date emergency and crisis management plans in collaboration with local EHS representatives and the other managers involved
  • Carrying out and keeping updated the assessment of environmental impacts, identifying improvement actions to reducing and eliminating the identified impacts
  • Collaborating in the management of contractors in compliance with the regulatory requirements and procedures of the Imerys Group
  • Oversee, together with the required management, the ISO 14001 certification audits, insurance audits and any Group Audit that has to do with EHS matters (either in full or part)
  • Preparing/maintaining EHS reports and KPIs on the basis of legislative obligations and internal needs
  • In case of any accident/incident, helping to conduct investigation and root cause analysis to define in collaboration with the site managers and local EHS managers to define a clear corrective action plan and transfer best practices quickly

Key areas of accountability:

  • Promote and drive improved LTA / NLTA / Total injury rate at Hub level
  • Near misses & safety culture evolution (maturity matrix) at Hub level
  • Reduction of waste/pollution at Hub level

Possible locations: Höganäs or Åmål


We believe that to be successful in this role you need to have indirect leadership skills and previous working experience within EHS field, knowledge of HSE management systems, sustainable development, legal compliance, environment expertise, risk assessment skills and techniques, incident analysis skills and techniques from technology and / or production focused organization.

This role will be most suitable for the candidate who has:

  • Relevant education background (HSE Engineer or "other" Engineer or with similar link with engineering activities)
  • 4+ years of experience in HSE function preferable in a multinational corporation
  • Multi-site experience is be a plus
  • Fluency in Swedish and English
