Aller media is looking for a Developer Manager to our editorial sites.
Do you want to be part of taking one of Sweden’s biggest media companies to the next level? We are now looking to hire a Developer Manager in Stockholm.
Are you a person who likes both web development and people management? If yes, this is a perfect role for you! As a Developer Manager for our editorial sites, you will do both. You will manage a team currently consisting of four full-stack developers working mainly with front-end development on all our brand sites, such as Elle, Hänt, Svensk Dam and Femina. You will also take part in the actual development in this combined developer and manager role.
We organize the daily work in smaller cross-functional product teams where every team has a product owner who leads the work and a business owner who ensure that what we do are in line with business expectations. The team also consists of developers, designers, analysts and experts. The teams are self-organizing and drive the agenda for their area. We run around 10 of these smaller teams in parallel.
Aller media is one of Sweden's largest media houses and has delivered relaxation, entertainment and inspiration to millions of readers since 1873. We create and develop some of Sweden's most well-known brands such as Elle, Femina, MåBra and Hänt and we constantly develop new ways to engage, provide experiences and services to our readers, users, visitors and followers - both in print and digital media as well as in the physical world.
Our digital sites reach more than 4 million unique visitors every week and being digital-first is our top priority going forward hence we focus our investments on our digital solutions.
Aller Media has the vision to make women’s lives richer, a vision that not only guides what value we deliver to our readers and customers but also how we work with 75 % women employed in the company and an equal leadership team.
What is it that makes our developers thrive at Aller? We have asked our developers why they like to work at Aller Media and these are some of their answers:
- Nice colleagues, reasonable workload, I have the opportunity to learn new things through collaboration with colleagues and on my own. We take time to help out and we are kind to each other
- That my opinions are listened to and the level of trust we have between each other.
- Friendly environment, Good attitudes from colleagues, Flexible work time.
- I think there is a good and open atmosphere between colleagues and managers. No negative stress. I am respected and my work is appreciated.
Who are you?
You have previous leadership experience, formal or informal, and several years of experience working as a developer. You manage your work and thrive with great responsibility. You get satisfaction by seeing others grow, you are a good active listener and feel comfortable in having both encouraging and constructive talks.
Problem-solving is one of your great driving forces, but also to make sure that everyone feels appreciated. You like to tackle problems even if you do not know exactly how to solve them but learn along the way and are therefore good at acquiring new knowledge on your own.
As a developer, you know web development well, both front-end and back-end, but you are perhaps extra good at one of them.
What we offer

Here we have a pepping culture where we work towards common goals and support each other. At Aller, you get an important role at an exciting and creative workplace in a media house where we like change. We are a company with a lot of love for our employees, users and customers!
We have collective agreements, occupational pension, wellness allowance and 30 days’ vacation. The office is located right by Östermalmstorg in Stockholm city.
