Bellwether of New Jersey is currently in search of a dedicated professional to fill the position of Incident Management Specialist.  Our Incident Management Specialist is a valuable member of the Incident Management team, reports directly to the Incident Management Director, and is responsible for developing, coordinating and monitoring the Incident process within the New Jersey program.

This position is primarily responsible for the Passaic county area of New Jersey.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the health and welfare of individuals in the program

  • Responsible for the coordination and completion of all areas of the investigation process (including, but not limited to, documentation review, interviewing, and the writing of the investigation report)

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Bellwether Administrative and Clinical teams

  • Participate in licensing activities

  • Meet regular reporting requirements

  • Act as a liaison between the program, state agencies, and families as needed

  • Monitor for actual and/or potential safety issues and take appropriate steps to resolve them in accordance with policy, procedure, and practice  

  • Operate all Bellwether equipment, appliances, and vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner

  • Demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and ability to ensure that the program environment is clean and safe, complying with industry standards 

  • Ensure HIPAA compliance

  • Maintain open and ongoing communication with all other staff, administrators and families as needed

  • Cooperate fully during any inspection or investigation conducted by Bellwether or its contracting agency, New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities and any other licensing and regulatory agencies

  • Maintain strict confidentiality with regard to individuals, employees or any aspect of Bellwether

  • Willing to travel to Bellwether sites throughout the state

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualified Applicants:

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, project management, communication skills and solid Microsoft Suite skills required

  • An ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities

  • The ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to make sound decisions without appreciable direction or advance preparation

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Ability to gain trust and maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to travel within NJ

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree preferred. A.A. degree, H.S. Diploma with 3 years related experience required.

  • 2 or more years of Incident Reporting experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of Incident Reporting principles and regulations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel

Valid, active driver’s license without any major violations within the past 3 years
